Only 4 ingredients needed to make these flaky cinnamon swirls puff pastry treats!

    Jump to Recipe

Small batch desserts don't get much easier than this. All you need is one sheet of store bought puff pastry to make these crowd pleasing, cinnamon swirls puff pastry delights! They're so flaky and fun to make and enjoy with friends and family.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen the reel I posted a few weeks ago on how to make these. I promise you, they're super simple to make! Click here to see the reel!

Where can I find puff pastry?

I am usually able to find it in the freezer section of my grocery store. It is generally located with items such as pre-made pies, cakes, phyllo dough, biscuits, etc. A box of puff pastry comes with two sheets. The only brand I've seen for these is by Pepperidge Farms. I've used this product for many years and the quality has always been consistent.

Are these puff pastry swirls really that easy to make?

Yes! Here's the quick rundown: Cut single pastry sheet into 9 pieces, lengthwise. Brush each piece with egg wash. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture over the strips. Twist the strips a few times. Then while laying on the baking sheet, roll them into a swirl. Tuck the end underneath the swirl. Bake for 22-25 minutes, depending on how golden you want them. And that is it, my friends!

    Serving size

I was able to make 9 decent sized cinnamon sugar swirls out of one pastry sheet. Of course, you can make them slimmer or wider. I simply used a pizza cutter to cut the sheet into long strips. Have a larger gathering that you'd like to make these for? Just make both sheets instead of the one and mix a bit more cinnamon and sugar together. These swirls would be fun to take to a breakfast or brunch theme party.

    Ingredients

    • 1 puff pastry sheet
    • 1 egg, whisked
    • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
    • 1 ½ teaspoon cinnamon

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut pastry sheet into 9 long strips. I used a pizza slicer to make this easy. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and sugar. Set aside.
    • Brush whisked egg over strips of pastry. Sprinkle strips with cinnamon and sugar mixture. Slightly twist the strips. Next, you'll want to form a swirl with them. Tuck the loose end underneath the entire swirl. It should look like a twisted pinwheel. Arrange on the baking sheet with some space in between each. Bake in the oven for 22-25 minutes. They should be a nice, golden color.
