This recipe is perfect for when you want to whip up a quick treat for company coming over or when you simply have a craving for something sweet (and don't want to do a bunch of dishes later)!
1cupconfectioners sugarcan use less based on desired consistency
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and as much blood orange zest as you'd like. Set aside.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Place puff pastry sheet on baking sheet. Cut into 6 squares. Whisk egg in a small bowl. Brush each square with the egg wash. Spread cream cheese filling in centers of each puff pastry square.
Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes. Outer edges should be a nice golden color. Make glaze while pastries are baking.
Blood Orange Glaze
Combine blood orange juice and confectioners sugar in a small bowl. Drizzle over slightly cooled pastries. You can add more or less of the confectioners sugar based on your desired glaze consistency.
Notes
I recommend storing these in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
